Rock trio Mad Sneaks unleashes “Coma”, a raw and powerful single that questions the surreal marketplace of false dreams and instant gratification. Blending gritty 90s rock influences with sharp lyricism, the band pulls no punches in this urgent commentary on modern society’s obsession with shortcuts, appearances, and hollow promises.

“Coma” reflects on the pseudo-magical formulas sold as solutions to everything — and the dependency they create. Today more than ever, vanity is corrupted by a bizarre and empty dream market, where people sell courses and fake success without mastering their own narratives. The lyrics cry out: “Please, dream, die! Please, hunger, die!” — a plea for release from the illusions that enslave us.

“It’s about wanting too much and never feeling enough,” says frontman Agno Dissan. “About clinging to what destroys us — consumption, status, image — thinking it will fill the void that it actually causes.”  Strangely, the lyrics of “Coma” were written over a decade ago — yet they sound more relevant than ever.

Formed by Agno DissanAmaury Johns, and Phill Andreas, Mad Sneaks built a solid path in the Brazilian alt-rock scene. Their first album was mastered by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden), and they’ve played key festivals like PMWGoiânia Noise, and opened for Red Fang in São Paulo (2018).

Their releases have garnered praise from Charles Cross (Kurt Cobain’s biographer) and collaborations with icons like Page Hamilton (Helmet) and Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Korn, Slayer). In 2023, their cover of Nirvana’s "Something in the Way"—approved by the band’s publishers—blended bandolim and xylophone with melancholic visuals.

In 2024, the band reunited with Page Hamilton, this time in person, to record the single “Void Space” in São Paulo — a process captured in a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary.

“Coma” is now available on all streaming platforms, accompanied by a striking video that matches the song’s raw emotional force. With plans for a U.S. tour underway, Mad Sneaks continues to carve their path as one of the most daring and thoughtful bands in heavy rock today.
