Rising pop punk trio joyful. returns with their brand-new single “Drown”, a track that explores the darker, heavier edge of emo and pop punk while staying true to the band’s emotionally honest roots.

Since forming in 2020, joyful. has steadily carved out their place in the scene, earning recognition from Alternative Press, Digital Tour Bus, and radio spins on Idobi Radio, as well as Chicago’s legendary Q101 and WXRT. Their energetic live presence has led them to share stages with bands like Melrose Avenue, Rematch, Fluorescents, and Chief State.

On “Drown”, joyful. amplifies their signature mix of raw emotion and driving punk energy, pulling inspiration from icons like My Chemical Romance, Motion City Soundtrack, and Hawthorne Heights. The result is a cathartic anthem that balances intensity with vulnerability, marking an exciting evolution for the band.

Made up of Andy Hilligoss (vocals, guitar), Will Garza (bass), and Jake Newling (drums), joyful. continues their mission to craft some of the most thoughtful and exciting music in today’s pop punk landscape. With “Drown”, they solidify their place as one of Chicago’s most compelling new voices in alternative music.
