When nothing is left but dust, dried blood, and voices in the mist, the coyotes prepare for a mystical pact in the New West. In a post-apocalyptic setting where love is a risk and magic comes at a price, Coyote Tango returns with their second single: “El Ritual”.

After the debut of “Sin Amor”, Coyote Tango comes back with a new ceremonial act: EL RITUAL, a darker, more determined, and more theatrical composition. The track opens with resonant guitars and a whistle leading into a mystical road trip, the drums beating like a battered heart until they burst into the chorus, where the voice and guitars—on the verge of tearing—foretell fate. A choral structure that evokes voices in a trance announces the ceremony, while bass and vocals seal the pact as a duet.

The mix of the esoteric and the rock ’n’ roll defines the new single’s character: aggressive and emotional, yet also liberating. “Tonight we will burn together in the bonfire of the ritual,” sings the protagonist, accepting a love pact with a witch in the midst of the apocalypse.

Produced by Alejandro Carrera and recorded by the original lineup — Irving Fierro / Vocals (SLRC, Sonora), Pablo Arcos / Keyboards (Veracruz), Nahum García / Drums (San Luis Potosí), David Mendoza / Guitar (Michoacán), and Enrique García / Bass (Guadalajara) — EL RITUAL marks a point of consolidation in the band’s sonic quest. Influenced by rock, country, and rhythms drawn from norteño, huapango, and even zapateado, Coyote Tango’s music becomes “coyotized” — ceremonially distorted to create a unique sound, rich in storytelling and theatricality.

“‘Sin Amor’ was just a bite, ‘El Ritual’ is the full taco,” say the members of Coyote Tango.
