Rising alternative rock band A Thousand Reasons released their highly anticipated single “Until the Sunlight Dies” , available now on all major streaming platforms. Fronted by Joseph Drenning — songwriter, composer, and lead vocalist — the band also features permanent members Nate Baker (lead guitar) and Jeff Klein (drums). This release showcases the band’s signature blend of emotional depth, cinematic orchestration, and powerful rock energy.
Collaborating with international talent, the track features hauntingly beautiful vocals from Ally Rozario, alongside lush viola and violin arrangements by Nikos Mavridis. Produced and mixed at Wombat Studios in Pennsylvania with Josh Joyce, the song seamlessly merges hard rock grit with orchestral grandeur. Inspired by 2000s emo radio hits and classic hard rock duets, “Until the Sunlight Dies” paints a cinematic picture of love’s endurance in the face of the world ending. Written in 2023, the song began with a melody that came to Joseph “out of nowhere” and evolved into a sweeping duet set against the backdrop of an impending apocalypse.
“I imagined a couple holding onto each other while the world crumbles around them. It’s about keeping your faith and love alive — no matter what. ” — Joseph Drenning, Male Vocalist, Songwriter & Composer.
Influences for the track include Seether & Amy Lee’s “Broken” , the orchestral power of Skillet, and the timeless intensity of Ozzy Osbourne & Lita Ford’s “Close My Eyes Forever. ” “Until the Sunlight Dies” is a truly global collaboration, featuring vocals by Ally Rozario recorded in Malaysia, strings by Nikos Mavridis captured in Greece, and production and mixing by Josh Joyce at Wombat Studios in Pennsylvania. Thanks to the Musiversal platform, the track came together seamlessly when it was recorded in parts across multiple countries.
With its sweeping orchestral breakdown, dueling vocals, and dynamic hard rock instrumentation, this track transcends genre boundaries. It’s a modern love anthem with mainstream appeal while still exciting hard rock, pop, and indie music fans alike.
