What remains of love when it becomes legend? WITCHWISH seeks an answer with “Althea”, the new single released on all streaming apps, accompanied by two alternate instrumental versions: “Lumenveil” and “Emberfall”. Together, they form a sonic triptych — like fragments of a woodland dream, a forgotten tale, or a film shot on 16mm.

“Althea” is an alternative folk ballad with cinematic intimacy, blending early 2000s acoustic softness with the raw emotional depth of artists like Hozier, Aurora, and Oneheart. A warm, vulnerable text leads the way through a story of spiritual love — a devotion on the edge of memory and myth. The aesthetic draws on Bridgerton’s romanticism, reimagined through a darker, fantasy-inspired lens. The instrumental versions — Lumenveil (light) and Emberfall (embers) — act as emotional reflections: one brighter, one more shadowed, both looping like sacred chants.

Witchwish is the sound of a soul speaking through fantasy, nostalgia, and poetry. Born in late 2023 out of the ashes of a novel and a scream, the project is the solo outlet of Stefano Tarroni — singer of the band Gatecloser and author of “The Fall of God”, a fantasy book that laid the foundation for an entire narrative universe. The music blends acoustic textures with pop, folk, alt-rock, and ambient influences. Somewhere between Hozier’s poetry, Tim Burton’s oddity, and an emo heart that still believes in magic, like Aurora’s music.
