"My Promised Land", the latest release from the band Metal Mercy, marks the second chapter in their four-part "Awakening" series. Following the thunderous opening track "Metal Messiah", Metal Mercy continues its journey with this powerful song that explores the search for hope and meaning in a world marked by conflict, pressure, and inner struggle.

Told from a darker perspective, the lyrics reflect the human desire to find a place of peace and purpose – a promised land – even when surrounded by chaos, war, and mental battles. The song captures the tension between despair and the longing for something better.

Musically, "My Promised Land" blends heavy driving riffs with strong melodies and emotional depth, delivering the raw power and atmosphere that define Metal Mercy’s sound.

"My Promised Land" is the second release in the "Awakening" series, where Metal Mercy unveils four songs across four consecutive Fridays – each track revealing another layer of the band’s message about opening our eyes to the reality of the world around us.

About Metal Mercy

Metal Mercy was originally formed in the late 1980s in Jönköping, Sweden, when the band released the maxi single "The Unborn Child". After the band eventually split up, the story seemed to have ended – but years later the band reawakened.

Today, Metal Mercy returns with a new lineup while keeping its original core. Founding members Nicklas Arvidsson and Basse Norberg remain at the heart of the band, now joined by Mattias Karlsson on bass and Tobias Hellgren on vocals.

While the band is based in Jönköping, vocalist Tobias Hellgren lives in Umeå, creating a modern long-distance collaboration. The band’s music is still largely written by Nicklas Arvidsson, who also wrote many of the original songs during the band’s early years in the 1980s. Today the band works closely together in shaping the songs, refining arrangements and atmosphere until they find the right feeling and energy.
