MAWK3 Releases Explosive New Single "Thin Ice"

Los Angeles-based rock trio MAWK3 is thrilled to announce the release of their second single, "Thin Ice". The track has already garnered rave reviews, with one critic describing it as "bold, driven, and explosive, brimming with killer riffs and soaring textures throughout. This one will have you pumping your fists from start to finish." With its powerful energy and infectious hooks, "Thin Ice" solidifies MAWK3 as a force to be reckoned with in the modern rock scene.

MAWK3, an acronym for "Middle Aged Wrecking Krew," is composed of vocalist/bassist Steve Giles, guitarist Jason Sweeny, and drummer Dan Nelles. The band’s signature sound features heavy guitars, driving beats, and radio-friendly hooks, a blend that is both fresh and familiar, calling to mind influences from rock legends like Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam to modern titans such as Queens of the Stone Age and Royal Blood.

The trio came together first as friends, each with a rich history in the Los Angeles rock scene. Giles, Sweeny, and Nelles have played in various nationally and internationally touring bands, including The Secret Things, Saucy Monky, Dream Life Misery, 3 Penny Needle, The Magnetic South, and The Obvious Wish. Despite their extensive individual resumes, it wasn't until the summer of 2023 that the three musicians found themselves in the same group.

What began as a casual suggestion to jam turned into a booked rehearsal in North Hollywood. From the very first session, the chemistry between the trio was undeniable, leading to the birth of MAWK3. Within six weeks, they had written 30 songs and quickly moved into the studio to record their debut album, "Bravo Zulu," set for release on Seraphim Records in the Fall of 2024.

Their debut single, "Supernatural," which dropped in June 2024, received an enthusiastic response from fans and critics alike, setting the stage for "Thin Ice" to continue the momentum. The band's music is characterized by its fury and fire, elements that are sure to resonate with rock fans of any era.
