ONORIUS CAUSA, the solo project of Portuguese musician and composer Pedro Honório, is set to make its powerful debut with the release of the single "Miúdos do Subúrbio Esquecido" (Kids of the Forgotten Suburb). Available on all streaming platforms from March 2026, this track marks the emergence of one of the most distinctive voices from the Portuguese-speaking underground rock/metal scene.
About the Single
"Miúdos do Subúrbio Esquecido" is a direct punch to the gut – a furious declaration of love for Lisbon's peripheries and the generations that grew up unseen. Rooted in Portuguese urban hardcore and infused with influences from 90s thrash and nu-metal, the song fuses aggressive guitars, dense bass, and lyrics charged with strong social commentary.
The track features a guest vocal performance by Tiago Leonel and has been globally distributed via TuneCore Professional, ensuring its presence on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and other major platforms.
HONORIUS CAUSA – Who is Pedro Honório?
HONORIUS CAUSA is the solo endeavor of Pedro Honório, a bassist, composer, and historical figure in the Portuguese underground metal scene. With over 35 years of career in hardcore and metal, Pedro co-founded 605 Forte in 1991, a pioneering Portuguese urban hardcore band that left a significant mark on a generation. Between 2006 and 2011, he was a member of Bruteforce, a Portuguese Ultra-Brutal Thrash/Death Metal band.
Now based in Dublin, Ireland, Pedro returns in 2026 with a project entirely his own. The name HONORIUS CAUSA is a clear statement of intent: music made for its own sake, for the merit of the work, without commercial concessions. The lyrics, entirely written by Pedro, draw inspiration from his life experiences and the reality of the working class in Lisbon's suburbs – themes of emigration, resistance, forgotten youth, and social critique.
