German extreme metal entity Aegror proudly announce that their critically acclaimed third studio album, Reign of Disease, will receive an official CD and merchandise release in 2026 through Black Lion Records (Sweden).
For collectors and early supporters, limited-edition vinyls are already in stock and on sale via Bandcamp, marking the first physical chapter of this new era for the band.
Formed in 2009 in Kerken, Germany, Aegror take their name from the Latin word for “disease,” a fitting descriptor for their sonic and thematic identity. Their sound fuses atmospheric black metal, death metal, and progressive melodic elements into a dark, cohesive narrative centered around psychological decay, pandemics, cosmic horror, and the grotesque mythology of Plaguebreeder — a multidimensional entity seeking to infiltrate the human world.
Behind the metaphor lies real-world reflection: societal breakdowns, crises, and the psychological weight carried by modern humanity.
Following their evolution from the 90s-influenced debut De Morbis (2010), the progressive EP Forgotten Tales (2013), and the refined, narrative-driven full-length Dead Man’s Diary (2017), Aegror faced severe internal turmoil. After several line-up changes and creative exhaustion, the band stood on the verge of dissolution. But founding vocalist Narthaas and guitarist Abyssus refused to let Aegror die. What followed was a period of silence — a necessary incubation before rebirth.
