Opportunity undoubtedly knocked as it definitely was Max and Leen’s alchemical encounter that sparked Bloody sugar & Noise. It is in 2021 that the duo experiments with the minimalist and nervous association where fuzz guitar and drums intertwine and that they set out to tread on the powerful, cathartic and demanding land of rock. The Be Fast label spotted them when recording their first songs. From this meeting their first eponymous EP was released in December 2022. It is at this time that they are preparing, still in collaboration with Be Fast, their next EP Batshit Crazy, was scheduled to be released in the spring of 2023.
In a tradition of alternative and garage rock, their songs are often critical of a flawed societal model. Through popular culture characters that are double, corrupt and desperately trying to survive, the duo tells and plays with these ambivalences that blur and inexorably push back the limits. If they also draw their inspiration from themes of current and historical social struggles that they certainly sprinkle with irony, Bloody Sugar & Noise also sings the sensuality of blues and encounters.
Like other duos that inspire them such as The White Stripes, The Kills or The Inspector Cluzo, Bloody Sugar & Noise is not selling any hats and their stage and phonographic performances cultivate intensity, raw energy and the spontaneity of the feverish pieces they compose. Bloody Sugar & Noise is hungry for more but bland sounds won’t be on the menu and that’s good !
