Following the conceptual depth of Kasna and the raw emotion of Oblivion (2024), Italian metal act Betrayed return with their haunting new single “Cocoon”, out this October — a visceral exploration of confinement, fear, and rebirth.

“Cocoon” is a claustrophobic descent into the human mind — a psychological cage where the longing for freedom collides with the terror of the outside world. The song tells the story of a divided soul, trapped between the safety of isolation and the dread of what lies beyond its fragile walls.

Translating the turmoil of bipolarity into sound, Cocoon drifts between serenity and rage, light and darkness, acceptance and denial. The guitars crash and intertwine like warring impulses, while the rhythm section pulses like a torn heart. Vocals oscillate between guttural aggression and aching melody, embodying the duality of one who feels both protected and imprisoned.

Musically, Cocoon fuses heavy riffs and dark atmospheres into a sound that is both visceral and introspective. It offers no resolution — only reflection: the eternal struggle between the need to be reborn and the fear of destroying one’s sanctuary.

With Cocoon, Betrayed continue to expand their emotional and sonic scope, diving deeper into the themes of pain, anger, and transformation that define their work. On stage, the band deliver these emotions with unrelenting energy — bringing their intense, cathartic live performances to audiences across Italy and Europe.
