Karabekian is the solo project of Máté Győrffy, former guitarist and bassist of the renowned Hungarian post-rock band Képzelt Város. His debut EP, Vagus, is a deeply emotional collection of improvisations.
The opening track premiered at the Venice Architecture Biennale as the sound design for an architectural project, while the other pieces are heavily inspired by the sounds that surround us.
Each carries layers of meaning, evoking moments and places, much like the melodies themselves. The album finds its full expression together with the accompanying short film featuring improvised dance. Shot in and around Paris, the video weaves natural and urban landscapes into the narrative, often creating deliberate contrasts with the music.
