The song is a manifesto of what to expect from the female-fronted, London-based seven piece moving forward: a mature, retrofuturistic sound that encapsulates the disorienting uncertainty of the passage of time.
Frances and the Majesties return to the scene with the first single out of their upcoming EP, the eponymous All of Time. The song is a manifesto of what to expect from the female-fronted, London-based seven piece moving forward: a mature, retrofuturistic sound that encapsulates the disorienting uncertainty of the passage of time.
All of Time is a mature creation, the synthesis of two years of unpredictability. Carried through by the ethereal vocals of frontwoman and saxophonist Francesca Landi and keyboardist Sarah Kershaw, the song is true to the band’s cinematic flare. It brings legendary Delia Darbyshire and White noise in the same room as Air, Cate le Bon, and Antena.
All of Time is experimental and bold in the choice of sounds, as it lulls the listener through a sense of melancholy, disillusion and uneasiness, while managing to convey the counterintuitive yet inevitable curiosity for what is yet to come.
The release of this single on the 4th of August 2023 coincides with the kick-off of the band’s Summer commitments, starting with Wilderness Fest at the beginning of August and ending with a much anticipated release party with New Candys at London’s Moth Club on the 29th of Semptember.
BIO:
Frances and the Majesties are a seven-piece band based in London. Their diverse backgrounds (from Italy to Morocco, via the UK) are reflected in the bands fresh, eclectic sound.
Frances and the Majesties latest single, All Of Time, from their upcoming EP, is out. The band’s new work marks a significant departure from their previous releases. From a modern 60s sound, the new tracks shift towards a jazzier, synth-led, electronic blend that stays true to the cinematic features that always characterised them. Melancholy still tinges Frances and the Majesties’ music, even more so with the new, soulful vocal approach of the upcoming release.
