International music project THE HYBRIS just released their debut album
“Music, Vol. 1”. In ten catchy alternative / indie anthems it celebrates life, political stance, and music itself. Music Vol. 1 was written and produced over three years, heart-crafted by three friends living in Germany, France and the US – additionally fueled by worldwide lockdowns.
Inspired by a wide variety of alternative influences, Jimmy Eat World in harder, System Of A Down in softer, the album sums up the work of all members to date. Melody and power front and center. In greek tragedy „Hybris“ stood for ‚exaggerated self-pride, arrogance, excess of ambition causing the transgressor's ruin‘. The perfect headline for the age we live in.
Today hybris (or ‚hubris‘) is often associated with the loss of reality and the overestimation of one's own abilities or achievements. And one day there was this idea of doing everything alone: write, play, record, produce & amp; release awesome rocksongs. Mhm... sounds like...
THE HYBRIS.
The lyrics often show political attitude. However, the collective does not take itself too seriously. But why these silly masks? Isn't this mask thing worn out? Some think they want to make themselves more interesting than they really are. Others believe, it is a smart move – since they are incredibly ugly in real life.
